This work consists of a detailed study of
three narrow-crested weir models with varying heights of crest and slopes of the downstream glacis.
The coefficients of discharge, and the pressures on the downstream glacis were determined under varying heads over the crest.
The results obtained, have been compared with the data from other workers, and also explained on theoretical considerations.
The pressures in the vicinity of the down-
stream toe of the weir were also calculated out and compared with those suggested by Dr. A.N.KhoslaC1 .
Regarding pressures on the downstream glacis, an interesting procedure has been evolved to predict excess hydrostatic pressures, on the basis of curvature of flow. |
