Abstract:
The objective of dissertation is for Development of a Medical Imaging Tool Suite which will be user friendly and will have the basic medical imaging tools as well as common tools used for analysis of medical images. This Medical Imaging tool suite compares various algorithms of different medical imaging tools. In this tool suite various algorithms of Image edge detection, Image Filtering, Image Enhancement and Image segmentation are analyzed and compared. The medical imaging suite has been developed in LabVIEW platform which gives it a graphical user panel. Any image can be loaded in the user panel to extract its features and analyze it by the tools provided. Results are compared by varying the controlling parameters like kernel window size and sigma. Also various algorithms for each tool have been implemented so that we can understand which algorithm will be well suited for medical imaging. NI vision development module has been used to create the VIs by using the inbuilt functions and IMAQ functions. IMAQ Vision Control Palettes are used to display the source and processed image. IMAQ Vision function palettes are used for building VIs Image processing algorithms which are used for development of imaging tool suite. Instruction boxes have been added for ease of use and understanding of each medical imaging tool.
