dc.description.abstract The Dairy industry is among the most contaminating industries as it creates substantial volume of wastewater that may adversely affect the environment if it is discharged untreated. Dairy wastewater is characterized by high COD, BOD and nutrient levels. In this study, Aluminium sulphate and Ferric chloride were utilized as coagulant for the treatment of synthetic dairy wastewater in the pH range of 4 to 10.The COD removals from the synthetic dairy wastewater were observed to be around 63.90 % and 58.17 %, by aluminium sulphate and ferric chloride as coagulant respectively, at the optimum conditions. Optimization was focused for maximum COD removal and minimum operating cost. en_US
