dc.description.abstract Irradiance over a Photo-voltaic are governed by atmospheric constituents, geography of the region and relative orientation with the earth surface. Spectral effects are determined by of scattering, extinction as well as absorption of the incoming radiation at the certain locations. Spectral effect on PV cell output for the period of June 2016 over the Jaipur region of Rajasthan India, has been modeled with the help of a SMARTS using the ground-based aerosol data form the AERONET. The resulting global horizontal irradiance (GHI) obtained has been compared with the onsite measurement available with NIWE-SRRA. The objective is to suitably use a parametrized radiative transfer model to the sub-tropical climate conditions and estimate the factors that affect the spectrum based on a parametrized model. Furthermore, irradiance spectrum is compared directly with the standard spectrum ASTM G 173-03 for PV cells. The Intensity factor relationship which has been shown to vary with AOD, humidity and temperature of the region. Variation of most Aerosol along with the humidity and the albedo effects have been shown to be adequately captured by the model, however cloud and dust factors seem to show a temporal variation on the incoming irradiation. In order to address these temporal variations, a corrective model which incorporates satellite imagery and an iterative algorithm to obtain clear sky index 𝑘∗ and corrected irradiance 𝐺𝐻𝐼𝐺∗ , is also presented en_US
