Abstract:
Understanding buildingmaterialpropertiescanplayakeyroleinanalyzingthehealthofstructural
elements inbuildings.Theseconstructionmaterialsshouldhavetherequiredengineering
properties whichfulfilthephysicalandchemicalrequirementsspecifiedintheStandardCodes
prior tousageinthefield.But,thefieldandlaboratorytestscanbelaborious,time-consumingand
cost-intensive. Generally,thestandardtestsemployedforcharacterizingmaterialpropertiesare
destructive innature.Largestructuressuchasbridges,dams,tunnelsarerarelyconsideredfor
destructive testing.Also,thechangeinthematerialpropertycanbeduetoexternalandinternal
factors whoseimpactmayormaynotbedetecteduntiltheoccurrenceoffailure/damage.Asthe
