Abstract:
The reactive absorption is the most promising technique for the removal of carbon dioxide from post combustion flue gas. Monaethanaolamine (MEA) solvent is the most commercially used solvent for this process. The performance of reactive absorption process is affected by different parameters like solvent temperature, concentration etc. The understanding of the technical and economical impact of various parameters on the reactive absorption process is done by simulation on ASPEN PLUS. The model is validated by the pilot plant data and then the model is further used to do a sensitivity analysis of the process by varying different parameters. This will help us to understand the process better and improve not only the technical effectiveness but also help to make process more economical
