NVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF SERIES CAPACITORS ON THE PROTECTION OF POWER SYSTEMS

Abstract

In this dissertation the various aspects relating to the use of series capacitors in the power systems have been discussed. To obtain the best location and optimum compensation of the series capacitor, for a particular system, the cost calculation has been carried out. The method of protection of the series capacitor have also been discussed, Lastly the effect of series capacitor on various protective relays has been analysed an some suitable protective schemes' have been suggested
