dc.description.abstract	In Metcalfe House DRDO there was a long felt need to have a unified Material Management System, for all the Labs/Estts falling under its orbit. This need was acquiring increased urgency with undertaking of major projects and programs by the DRDO to meet the challenging requirement. This significant growth in the responsibilities/activities of the DRDO necessitates manifold increase in expedious procurement of material resources, without impeding the project progress schedules with minimum procedural effort. A good beginning was made and a standardized Purchase Procedure for DRDO was brought out and efforts are on to bring out standard store procedure for the use of DRDO. This software "Suvidha" will wrap the budget, procurement, receipt, dispatch, stores accounting, auditing and other activities of the labs in general and the Material Management Group. The software automates the above activities with the full validation of government procedures. The software is made using Microsoft Visual Basic 6 to give GUI based user-friendly software for the store department. Structured Query Language is used for the query purpose and ActiveX Data Objects are used for accessing the database. The ActiveX Data Objects are used because they can access a variety of data sources like Access and SQL server database as well as non-Microsoft databases such as Oracle and Sybase.	en_US
