Microwave absorber sheets are heavier in weight, narrow bandwidth, to overcome these drawbacks an attempt is made to develop light weight microwave absorbing paint using Z-type hexagonal ferrite in X-band. Two samples of ferrite (Ba3(Co(2.X)Znx) Fe24 041) x=1.6 and x=1.8 have been developed by dry attrition sintering method. The developed ferrite powders have been mixed 60% by weight in 40% part of an epoxy resin to form a paint. This paint was coated on the conducting aluminium sheets for study of microwave absorption in the X-band. The various sheets of absorber of different coating thickness for single layer (.25mm to 1.67mm) have been fabricated and tested experimentally. The two layer absorber plate also fabricated for coating thickness (1.5mm to 2.0mm). The microwave absorption was measured by ATD method. The sample of ferrite 1 gives maximum absorption of 9.27dB at 11.8GHz frequency for a coating thickness of 1.20mm. The microwave absorber using ferrite 2 gives maximum absorption of 7.3dB at 8.4GHz frequency for a coating thickness of 0.65mm. The work is done in Turbo C++ on Windows 9x environmenten_US
