dc.description.abstractBefore the arrival of microcontrollers the microprocessors were thought of as the complete solution for the control applications. The several microcontrollers available have only two interrupts and their speed is also not high. For real time applications, the microcontrollers should have high speed and larger number of interrupts handling capability. Therefore there is a need to design an improved microcontroller, which has larger number of interrupts handling capability and high speed. With this view in, in this thesis an attempt has been made to design an improved microcontroller based on the concepts of Harward architecture, which has the features of the existing microcontrollers in addition to high speed (by integrating data memory (RAM) with CPU) and large number of interrupt handling capability.en_US
