|Abstract:||Access to multimedia data has become much easier due to rapid growth of the Internet. While this is usually considered an improvement, it also makes unauthorized copying and distribution of multimedia data (images, video, audio etc) much easier, therefore presenting a challenge in the field of copyright protection. Digital watermarking, which is inserting copyright information into the data, has been proposed to solve this problem. In this dissertation work a wavelet-based watermarking algorithm, for inserting watermark into . images and detecting watermark in the image, for ownership verification of digital images is implemented. Owner of the images will have private control on the watermark with the help of secret keys. A set of filters bank, which acts as a secret key for image, is generated from spectral factorization of polynomial. Experimental results are given to demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is effective and can be used in a practical system|
