Abstract: In this dissertation, the numerical and experimental evaluation of the electric field distribution and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of EM energy at 900 MHz in the human head because of radiation from mobile handset has been done. The numerical method selected for simulation is FDTD method. In experimental evaluation homogeneous head models are used. The head models analyzed are both the homogeneous and inhomogeneous (actual) ones. Experimental studies have been carried out using homogeneous models only. The most general computer code have been developed in C++ to simulate the numerical analyzes. Both computed and measured E-field distribution and SAR in the head have been reported as function of various parameters of interest.
