Title: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE PERFORMANCE OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF CMOS BUFFERS
Authors: Vandana
Keywords: ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING;CMOS BUFFERS;BUFFER SYSTEM;PROPAGATION DELAY
Issue Date: 2001
Abstract: This work deals with the comparative study of different types of CMOS buffers i.e. uniform repeaters and tapered buffers. Comparison of propagation delay, power • dissipation and chip area requirements of both cases are carried out. The emphasis is on the propagation delay. The study involves calculation of propagation delay analytically using computer program and the simulation of the buffers for propagation delay using SPICE. Finally, from the comparison of both buffer systems, the selection of the optimum buffer system for any specific load condition is done using computer program.
