Title: POLAROGRAPHIC STUDY OF SOLOCHROME DYES AND SUBSTITUTED THIOUREAS
Authors: Singh, Kanak Lata
Keywords: SOLOCHROME;THIOUREAS;POLAROGRAPHIC INSTRUMENTS
Issue Date: 1969
Abstract: The work on the application of polarocrap hie technique to various problems of physical and analytic*! chemistry was started In this laboratory so»e five years back. The success achieved In this work prompted us to carry out Investigations with organic - jolarography without waiting for the arrival of more polarographie instruments like oscilopolarosraph.photo-r^eording polarogrsph, controlled potential eoulometer, different types of mercury electrodes etc, from abroad* A beginair$ was made by using two class of organic eosspounds likely to give eathodie as well as anodic vsvas, «;or the first category, certain new aso dyes.known as •oloohrom* dyestwero chosenfor investigation while for the other thiourea and its derivatives (both water soluble m6 water•insoluble) were investigated using manual polarouraph in most of the cases, the results obtained on the basis of these studies have been thoroughly examined In the light of the existing theories of kinetic and adsorption currents. The phenomenon of the aggregat ion of dyes so vary important from the view point of dyeing industry has also been studied comprehensively. It is hoped that these studies would provide useful data for the workers in the field of organic polsrogrophy* ftajflsnvlcdgcaent. I am thankful to r. ahid U#Malik. Pm»St9s»M*tF.fl»*f*»t F.S.I.C.
