Abstract: Of course digital control system has a wide selection of control algorithms so simulation and design of digital control algorithms is done in this dissertation. Several linear self-regulating processes, including plants with low or high order, small or large dead time, monotonic or oscillatory responses are modeled for a second-order system with dead time structure. The estimated model of the process is then discretized to get an appropriate pulse transfer-function Since sampling time T plays a vital role in digital design hence more stress is given upon sampling time and no. of pulse transfer functions are calculated at different sampling time. More-over, since a digital control system introduces a time delay of half of the sampling time, it is included in design. After getting model pulse Transfer Functions Various control algorithms are designed. It would be logical to mention that in each discretization sampling time T not only obeys sampling theorem but also other facts like stability, rules of thumb etc.. Simulation on various examples shows the satisfactory results for different types of processes. The, software is prepared in Turbo C++ and step responses are taken using Matlab software.
