Authors: Sharma, Ajay Kumar

Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: In this dissertation, a computer aided design for the estimation of monostatic Radar Cross Section of curved surfaces and 3-D objects has been developed. The objects have been modeled using Non Uniform Rational B-Spline Surfaces (NURBS). The analyzes are carried out using Physical Optics (PO) method. The contributions to the backscattered field due to diffractions from the edges and surface discontinuity have been ignored. A general computer code has been developed in C-language to study various cases of objects which include curved plates (cylindrical and conical), cylinder, cone and missile (approximated by a cone-cylinder) . The dependence of RCS on various parameters of interest are studied at large and discussed thoroughly. The future scope of work and further modifications are also proposed. .
