Abstract: In this dissertation, the design of a single feed, small size, stacked patch microstrip antenna with circular polarization is described. Size reduction and circular polarization has been achieved by cutting slits in the square patch and by adjusting the lengths of slits. Our, investigation has also revealed tradeoffs between the obtainable bandwidth and size reduction. The simulated 3dB axial ratio bandwidth achieved is 4.7 % with centre frequency of 2.6 Gl-Iz. A 2 x 2 subarray using high dielectric constant feed substrate is also described in this report. An 8 % axial ratio bandwidth has been obtained from the simulated 2 x 2 subarray
