Abstract: In this dissertation, the analysis of electromagnetic scattering by lossy dielectric objects of arbitrary shape has been done. Combined field integral equation has been formulated for these objects. This integral equation has been solved using method of moments. A powerful set of basis functions associated with triangular patches and distributed over scattering domain have been used in this approach based on method of moments. The scatterers that are covered in the present work for case studies are rectangular dielectric slab of infinite thickness in Z direction, infinite dielectric cylinder. Computer codes based on the analysis have been developed using FORTRAN 77. Computed results for the induced current density (both electric and magnetic) and radar cross section have been presented for a plane incident wave. The code is general and can be used for any shape, frequency and polarization of incident wave.
