In this dissertation theoritical estimation of internal radar cross-section of open cavities has been carried out by shooting and bouncing ray method, A . computer software is developed to estimate the scattering of a cavity. Software Is efficient and can be used for cavity of any shape and size loaded with any type of material. Although this technique gives more accurate results for the cavities large compared to lamda. The method includes tracing of the rays inside the cavity. By following the laws of geometrical theory of diffraction, divergence of ray tube, polarization and material reflection coefficient, the field on the ray is calculated. At the exit point physical optics type integration of innduced aperture current is performed and scattered far fields are obtained. The results are obtained for two different shaped cavities: cylindrical (with circular aperture), cylindrical (with elliptical aperture).en_US
