Abstract: Ferrite Absorbing Paints are composition dependent resonance type materials and are generally narrowband in nature. To overcome this drawback the usual approach is the multilayer absorber approach. In the present study broadbanding of microwave absorber by using dielectric-ferrite paint layers and the effect of thickness ratio of two ferrites on the centre frequency (frequency at which peak absorption occurs) is discussed. The ferrite paint was fabricated with Cobalt-Titanium substituted Barium Hexagonal ferrite powder and Epoxy resin. The dielectric paint was fabricated with Titanium-dioxide powder and Epoxy resin. The ferrite absorbers, ferrite-ferrite absorbers and dielectric-ferrite absorbers have been tested using Absorption Testing Device(ATD). The absorption obtained follow (with slight deviation) the theoretically predicted values. The objective of broadbanding of absorber was succesfully achieved in the present investigation.
