In this work multiple-access problem is defined and then presented the underlying issues and difficulties in achieving multiple access communication. A taxonomy for multiple-access protocols is then presented in order to characterize common approaches and to provide a framework within which these protocols can be compared and contrasted. Performance analysis of various collision free protocols Basic bit map, BRAP, HLMA and adaptive tree walk is done by drawing load-throughput, load-delay, throughput-delay, arrival rate-delay curves. It is concluded by showing which one is best in what conditionsen_US
