This work examines the existing collision free protocol(basic bit map) for time constrained communication on an interconnected network.. Issues involved in time constrained interconnected environment are discussed. A model for the performance evaluation is presented. Parameters responsible for the poor performance of the existing protocol for time constrained environment on an interconnected network are identified. Two modifications are suggested which results in better performance. The reasoning behind these modifications is supported by the simulation resultsen_US
