With the arrival of the fourth generation computers in 1980's use of computers has increased all over the world. Now a days most of the organizations have computerized their operations. Simultaneously advancement in the communication technology has inspired organizations to, connect their computers situated at different locations by network. Lot of activity is taking place where a number of people though separated geographically are working together on a project as a group. They work together for completing common task. The conventional software systems support no or very little interaction among group of users working together. Over last five to six years researchers have started studying how people work in a group and how -technology particularly computers can support their group activity. In this dissertation work, attempt has been made to develop a system that supports real time ( i.e. simultaneous activity) group collaboration among users working on networked UNIX systems. The work has been implemented on HP 9000/300 systems networked over ethernet running HP-UXen_US
