Abstract: The unprecedented growth in the field of data communication together with the ever increasing demand for wide access range has culminated in the widespread use of distributed database system. The resiliency control scheme in case of a distributed system takes care of that aspect, which concerns the ability of the system to, not only recover after a sub-system failure has been rectified, but also to give a reasonable performance in case of such a failure. The resiliency scheme for a distributed database system with replicate data was implemented in this dissertation. Since the scheme does not use a log subsystem the scheme supports a total site crash. This scheme makes use of replicate data to enhance reliability without any consistency problem. Also, the scheme supports system partitioning without any consistency problem. Although the scheme does not make use of a log subsystem , such a system can be incorporated tc provide a localized backup mechanism
