dc.description.abstract | A Natural language Understanding software package is implemented in this thesis which converts an English sentence to a representation in Conceptual Graph Notation. The package contains a lexicon and semantic,network to store knowledge about English words and the concepts they rep-resent._, a parser for syntactic analysis of the input sentence, a syntax corrector for certain syntactic errors, a synthesiser which works in conjunction with a generator for semantic ana-lysis of parser output and graph generation. This package can serve as a front end processor to a theorem prover or question answering system based on conceptual graphs. It can also be used as an intermediate language in machine translation. The package is implemented in TURBOC on a PC-AT compatible. | en_US |
