Numerical Control is the heart of modern manufac-turing industries. Efficiency of a Numerical Control System depends on the efficiency of part programming. Manual part programming results in high lead time and high probability of errors. Computer assisted part pro-gramming is used to overcome these shortcomings. Htmd-reds of computer assisted part programing systems have been developed. In this dissertation the basic philoso-phy of a computer assisted part programming system is presented. A computer assisted• part programming system is developed for a computer numerical control six spin-dle drilling machine. Using this system, part programmer writes a part program in English like' language. Part program codes are generated automatically by the system. A list file is also produced simultaneously. It consists of the holes location data, error messages and diagnostic statements. This file is checked for part program veri-fication. The system displays the geometry of the part made by the data of list file for instance verification of the geometrical formation of the part program.en_US
