Abstract: | Computer Graphics is a topic of rapidly growing importance in the computer tieid. It produces images whose appearance and motion make them quite unlike any other form of computer output. The human eye can absorb the information content of a displayed diagram or perspective much faster than it can scan a table of numbers. Computer-aided-design is a prime application area of Computer graphics. The functions in a Graphics package can be divided into various sets. The programmer's model consists of three activities viz. Application model construction, describing objects to graphics system and Interaction handling. UMC CAD systems provide DRAFT PACK 2D package and DRAFT PACK language for graphics programming. Parametric design programs in DPL coupled with the package DP can give the designer a strong tool for solving various problems of design and drafting. In the dissertation work an Interactive graphics package with parametric approach for design of Architectural plans has been developed using the DPL language. The package is useful to design layout and detailed plans of houses. It consists of two programs, the first of which gives outputs of percentage plinth area in a plot, open area in a layout, road area in a layout and total layout area. It designs and displays different layouts.i'he second program designs and displays detailed plan of various categories of houses and gives dimensions of rooms etc.. in detailed plan of house. The programs design and display the plans depending upon the inputs given by the user interactively |
