Title: SSASL: AN INTERPRETER OF A SUBSET OF SASL
Authors: Pal, Chander
Keywords: ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING;SSASL;DYNAMIC AND AUTOMATIC MEMORY MANAGEMENT;GARBAGE COLLECTION SCHEME
Issue Date: 1989
Abstract: There is a growing belief that the next generation of programming languages will be significantly influenced by functional languages because of inherent parallelism of functional languages. In this work formal aspects of functional languages and their implementations are presented. Also the comparative study of functinal laguages and conventional languages is presented. For explaining the concept of functional programming, the functional language SASL has been chosen. A subset of SASL, named SSASL is implemented using C Language as a source language. Dynamic and automatic memory management is being implemented. An garbage collection scheme is implemented for efficient utilization of memory space.
