Abstract: Replicated databases are very useful in providing reliable and quick access to data. They increase the availability of data and reduce the communication costs in applications in which updates are rare. distributed database system is designed and implarnented which supports replicated ~'~ -a.s .with delayed update. Such a system can be used in applications where currency of the databse is not important. The system is built upon network database model based }EC system-20 DBIAS. The read-only-access at a site is provided with the help of the local copy of the data at that site. The update access requests,with any input data,are sent to the master-site with the help of a commu--ni c ati_ on subnet.
