Abstract: The work presented in this dissertation is concerned with the realization of the relational data model i.e., it provides the vocabulary of primitive& to model and process data as relations at the user-interface level. The package is completely interactive and its robustness has been given prime consideration while designing. Some salient features of this self supporting, menu driven package are - (i) Relationally complete set of relational algebraic operations for data manipulation. (ii) A variety of commands each with a number of options to carry out insertion, deletion, updation of data. (iii) A large degree of program and data independence. (iv)- Display of user friendly error messages and warnings wherever required. The package is written in TURBO Pascal and impleo. mented and tested on IBM-PC/XT with MS-DDS operating system..
