dc.description.abstract | The extraction of power from microwave equipments into a waveguide or viceverea is effected by a coaxial to wevegui~le adapter. The maximum power transfer in either ease over a wide bands, requires that the characteristic Impedance of the waveguide be transformed to that of the cableover the operating range. In this work a single ridge tapered transition is worked out as a matching Wit. for an 3-band rectangular waveguide. Here two methods of design procedures are proposed.. In the first method. the ridge step ratio necessary for 50 ohms at a centre frequency is found out by trial and error. An exponential profile of this step ratio as a function. of the distance along the taper of aasued -length 'L' fo.3.xns the transition unit, The length of the taper is taken to be the average value of guide wavelengths at the lowaat frequency of the band,# evaluated at certain sample points. | en_US |
