CODED RADAR SYSTEM
PULSE DOPPLER RADAR
|Abstract:||in the second world war scientists all over the world found that it is not possible to tackle the war problem with a pulse doppler radar. Radar was wanted to detect the target in much.more noisy conditions and also its range should be quite high. During war they increased range and range resolution performance by incrasing transmitter peak power and reducing pulse length to have better resolution. Transmission of peak power is limited to the antenna capacities. This required ingeneous method for increasing the range. Now, instead of increasing the amplitude of the pulse the idea arise, "Is it not possible to increase the other dimension, the time". The affirmative answer to above question was given by J.R. KLAUDER, A.C. Price, S. Darlington and W.J. ALH aRSHEIM in 1960. (1). Skolnik (2) has said that range of the radar is dependent upon the power transmitted and range resolution is purely dependent upon the band-width of the waveform that is transmitted. KLAUDER ( ) has stressed that the range of the radar can be increased without affecting its resolution properties|
