Abstract: Different techniques for image processing are discussed. Digital image is generated with the help of computer by dividing the picture into 64x64 pixels. The image is enhanced by using different techniques Gs -,contrast enhancement by conventional method, by histogram equa.ization and by high frequency filtering. Images corrupted by different types of noises viz, random noise additive noise are filtered. The edges of the images are also enhanced by using edge detection techniques. The edge detection includes gradient methods also. The histograms of these images before and after each technique's operation are also calculated and printed. Some future aspects to enhance the image are als o suggested.
