dc.description.abstractIn the last few years there has been a significant., rise in interest in the field of Machine Translation- through. out the world-,. With this trend-! it is worth while to think of Machine Translation in Indian context-. The basic philosophy of Machine Translation systems with a special attention to, English to Hindi Machine Tranalation is discussed. A syntax directed English to Hindi Translator (SENHIT+..l) has been developed, designed and implemented on BBC micro for a small subset of English. This work includesparsang of. English sen-. teenoe, representing results of parsing in a understandable form and generating equivalent Hindi sentence in romanized version which is converted finally to Devnagari script. Test results of this system are taken on a graphic printer and within the practical constraints they are found to be very much encouraging,.en_US
