This dissertation is primarily concerned with the error analysis of space stable Inertial navigation system with velocity and altitude damping. The mechanise- Lion of space stable inertial navigation system is des- cribed. first and details of velocity and altitude damp-ings are given thereafter,, Various error sources contri-buting to the errors s! in navigational. quantities e.g. velocity etc.,, are considered and the error equations are developed* A complete error propo tion- simulat ,on of the errors in navigational quantities is developed. . Zn this thesis, the aim- is, to develop error propa-gation equations for space stable inertial navigation sys-tem, with velocity and altitude, damping, in the form of a set of first order linear, differential equations (state spate notation) i.e., = F(t) x(t) + u(t) where the state vector (t) consists of position and velocity error and platform tilt referenced and coordi - tiled in inertial reference frame. Input error vector ut t) consists of terms of Instrumentt errors and gravity anomalies. 0 Sometimes we are iiore interested in earth referenced errors y(t) , than inert .y referenced errors x(t) , where y(t) consists of longitude, latitude and altitude errors, north $ east sand vertical velocity (with respect to earth) errors and altitude errors. The earth referenced errors y(t) are shown to be related to inertially referenced. errors by the equation y(t) = C(t) x(t) where, C(t) 'is an appropriate transformation matrixen_US
