dc.description.abstractA digital filter can also be viewed as a subroutine of a general purpose digital c! puterg Bch can process digital signals. In time domain, an Infinite Impulse ret- ponse (L .fit.) digital filter Is designed recursively by minimizing an error criterion. The methods used so far take a large amount of computational time. The proposed procedure. deals with the problem ct synthesis of recursive digital filter to give a desired pulse response over a specified interval using non'recuretve filter design techniques i.e., by oo olvi g the time series with the weighting function of the filter. A e] ton for coefficient sónitiv1ty has also boon derived an shown to be invariant for V5Y small. quantization errors.,; A design technique for 2D recureve digital f lteir has been developed Which gives the desired s plo response . over a specified sector. Zt has the advantage of adding more blocks to the designed filter, if It i.e desired to realize more naples, without affecting the design ct earlier blocks. The effect of queritization in 2-D recursive digital filter has also been studied and a relation is developed under certain assumptions. This is illustrated with the help of an exple. Some furtherproblems are also suggested for Investigation, the study of -vh ch will add to the exist* ing results concerning digital filter design and analysis. aen_US
