dc.description.abstractIn the present dissertation a generalised pipe-line MQ ET cellular array has been proposed which can perform all the basic operations such as multipl cation division squaring$ square rooting . - The different modes of operation are controlled by a single -control line. It has been, ,shown that these arithmetic operations can be over- lapped in the pipe in any desired sequence and thus signi" ficant speed improvement can be achieved. A new pipeline array for signed binary division as well as for binary to decimal conversion has been suggested . The array is fully iterative and hence is suitable for, large scale irate- gration. An expression for time delay has been obtained. The proposed cell for the above. array has been fabricated using integrated: circuits, some suggestions for further work have been given.en_US
