Abstract: | The study of sequential circuits forms an important part in the design of dl..tital computers . The present work is aimed at studying several aepeets of eel,- uential circuits with a view to improve upon the existing techniques used in the design of digital computers. In the present thesis various aspects of sequential circuits have been a wined. The dynes, c equ-ations have been exploited in the study of sequential circuits. In particular the concepts of controllability and observability have been used to obtain a minimal cir-cuit from a non-minimal one. A complete design of a 4K, 16 b it minicom-puter has been presented. The details about practical implementation of the computer are given. Because of the heavy cost involved, only the 4-bit 'arithmetic unit' ha© been fabricated. At the end some suggestions for future work in this field are also proposed |
