dc.description.abstract | With the advancement in technology the demand for information gathering, processing and its distribution is growing rapidly. Various organisations with their offices located over a wide geographical area need to be able to communicated through computers. Every orga-nisation has its own computer network. Here, comes the need of an interconnection of different computer networks. But before computer networks are connected, it is essen-- .t!al to verify the feasibility of running a given work load on this interconnection network to justify that the interconnection network designed is best with respect to predefined requirements. Thus, ultimately, it is the computer simulation of system to evaluate its performance. Computer simulation is the best and most cost effective technique. In this dissertation an interconnection of computer networks is simulated using FORTRAN IV and its performance has been studied. Appendices list the- program and results. | en_US |
