With the advancement in technology the demand for information gathering, processing, and its distribution is growing rapidly. Organisations with their offices located over a wide geographical• area need to be able to inspect the current status of even their remote outpo9tat the push of a button. Here comes the need of a large number of 'separate but interconnected computers known as computer network. But before computers are connected it is essential to verify the flexibility of running a given work load on this network to justify that the network designed is best with respect to the predefined requirements. Thus, ultimately it is the computer simulation of system to evaluate its performance. Computer simulation is the best and most cost effective technique. In this dissertation a computer network imploying packet switching is simulated using Pascal and its performance has been studied. Appendices list the programs.en_US
