Abstract: | This dissertation presents a study of the varactor harmonic generator type frequency multipliers and describes the design and development of a doubler Operating in 15► lb. frequency doubler was actually designed and fabricated using indigenous techniques.. Xt.. 3oyed an abrupt Junction vsrac#br of Microwave Associates Inc., U.S.A. as a norjnear, time varying capacitance ei.nent. Since for the msximtm transfer of power proper matching Is desiz• able both at the input and output ends, matching coaxial sbibs were designed using ith Charts. These subs were fabricated in the workshop of the Electronics and Conuni.ca. tion Engineering Department and were tested in the microwave laboratory of the Departments. With proper adjustments they were found to be sharply tuned at 150 MHz and 300 MHZ, respectively and provided a good rejection of other frsqu®n» ties ( ) db) .. The actual operation of the assembled harmonic m tor, how.ver, could not be studied In want of an input source of adequate power, 50 watts, at 3.50 MHz. Since lower power varactors rear also not Mable, an sltsr native sort up was also not feasible. |
