Abstract: This dissortatien is cancerned with the problems of adaptive control and modeling of control and guidance systems. In particular, a technique is proposed for the design of adaptive control for nonlinear systems. The method utilises the Liapunov direct method for the de-rivation of adaptation rule. The proposed method is based on the Davison's theorem which deals with the sta-bility of nonlinear time- varying systems. The problems of modeling and parameter tracking are also considered and a technique is proposed for the mod*-ling of linear systems with partial informat ion. The problem of model reference adaptive control for a satellite moving in free space is also discussed. The approach is based on Park's techniques. The proposed methods are illustrated with the help of examples, and computer programmes for the nonlinear ada-ptive control systems are given
