Abstract: micro-FROLOG is a logic-based language and enables the computer to make logical inferences about the data in its programs and to solve problems by simulated deduc-tive reasoning. It is a dialect of PROLOG, suitable for micro computers. With the increase in the use of micro-computers, the importance of micro-PROLOG as a logical language also increases. This work is concerned with the development of an interpreter for micro-PROLOG. This dissertation describes the language micro-PROLOG, its features and various implementation schemes used for the development of micro-PROLOG interpreter. It also explains the semantics of the language. In the developed interpreter the data-base is stored in tree structure and the search technique used for evalua-ting queries, is depth-first-search. For backtracking, tail recursion is used to save the memory area. This interpreter is implemented for three data bases. These are data-base of family relationships, plant classi-fication and geological time scale. All types of queries are also evaluated for all these data bases. The interpreter is provided as an ALGOL-60 program developed on DEC3Y3TEM-2050.
