Abstract: Wave digital filters are a class of digital filter structures exhibiting low sensitivity to coefficient variations. They can be implemented in software or in. hardware. In this dissertation, keeping in view of the word length problem, memory space, accuracy and perfor--mance of wave digital filters, algorithms for computing the multiplier coefficients are presented. These coeffi-cients are needed for the software implementation of wave digital filters. Alternative algorithms to achieve reduction in element count, under some conditions, are also given. The necessary flow charts and computer programs are presented for all cases. Some examples are worked out using these programs on Digital Computer System DEC-20, and the results are compared with the manually calculated results to check the validity of Computer Programs.
