Abstract: Almost all the, program have some error or the other when run for the first time. So debugging is an important stage of software development. In this dissertation a debugger with enhanced capa-bilities, has been developed. It provides the user of Intel 8080/8085 microprocessors, with an environment in which he is .free, to use memory addresses from 0000H to E000H. This is normally not allowed by other systems due to locations occupied by other system software. It simulates I/O ports of 8085 which facilitate the use of his own I/O port add-resses, The debugger allows the display of symbol table on logical console device which is helpful in setting of break-points while executing user program. These features are usu-ally absent in the debuggers in use now—a-.days. In addition, some of the facilities, provided by other debuggers, are also developed. These include single— step execution, register display for displaying user program status and memory display.
