Authors: Raghunadh, M. V.
Keywords: ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING;ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING;ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING;ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING
Issue Date: 1984
Abstract: Modulation techna.ques for optical fiber communication have been given. Two types of modulations$ Intensity modulation and Direct modulation of Semiconductors have been considered. Noise associated with the system has been classified as Source noise, Fiber noise and Receiver noise. Each of these has been discussed alongwith its mathematical characterization. Performance of the optical binary PSK system is given and phase estimators have been derived.
