Abstract: A study of the design and analysis of 'Wave Digital Filters', has been carried out in the following chapters of this thesis. In Chapter i, Wave Digital Filters have been introduced. Wave Digital Filters are derived from equally terminated LC filters which are inherently low—sensitivity structures. In chapter 2, a qualitative justification of the low—sensitivity attribute of equally terminated LC filters has been given. Also, analog elements have been realized digitally in this chapter. In chapter 3, 'Adaptors', which form the basic building block of Wave Digital Filters, have been discussed. Chapter 4 gives a realization technique of WDFs. Various synthesis approaches and properties of WDFs form the object of discussion in chapters 5 and 6. In the end, the application and problems associated with WDFs are given, and a few suggestions about the WDF, which need further investigations are pointed out.
