Issue Date: 1968
Abstract: The thesis deals with the analogical trsatavnt of the Laser operated parametric amplifier. This work will help to the analysis of steady state as well as transient behaviour of Laser interaction with Nonlinear medium causing parametric .amplification. The first Chapter gives sL brief account of the previous work done in this field thereby xaking a link with the present Work done. In the next two Chapters the conditions of oscilla_ tions have been derived for the degenerate and nonndagenerate parametric amplifier* taking losses Into ac.count., The ca ndi tions of 0sciUatlon have been derived with and without the phase of the subha +aonjc oscillation (Or signal) being taken into account. Chapter IV finds the zones of oscillation giving practical figures In aiorowav♦ as well as in optic^, region which is an addition to Loutsasi's work. In Chapter V threshold pump power has been calculated. Tables are given for threshold pump power with different values of Q and detuning factor 4 . Chapter 0 calculates the power gain i.e. ratio of output idler power and input signal power and finds th• equivalent circuit. By optimising this power gain r•lation•- ship Manley and .bawl relation has been obtained. Lastly the scope for further work has been outlined
