DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A DATA BASE FOR THE CENTRAL LIBRARY (U.O.R.)

Abstract

The problem of library automaton using the data base technique is considered in this dissertation. A data bpse for certain sections of the University Central Library is implemented. The completion of this objective requires - a creation of a data base that contains the data and data relationships describing the objective. w development of a software . for updating and modification of data in the data base . to answer all queries . to perform day to day transactions of the library. The schema and programs for data loading, information retrieval and data base updating the developed and tested on DEC-2050 computer that has a sophistic? ted commercial software package (DDMS-20 package). Knowledge of various DBMS languages end COBOL serves as tho necessary background materiel. The data base has been created and tested for a sample successfully.
