dc.description.abstract | A collection of data designed to be used by different progra-mmers is called a data base, The DBMS maintains the data base properly and operates Oon. The use of DBMS is like having a superbly fast and brilliant clerk who keeps data for many appli-cations. He organized his books so that minimum writing is necessary and so that he can search the records quickly to ans-wer any queries that may come along. In this dissertation, the DBMS techniques have been applied to computerize the library facilities; For this purpose, A suitable, data base has been designed and implemented. The major aspects covered in the implemented system of library are *Information Retrieval : *One can retriev any type of information about. *the book like book-name, book-no. . *the User like user-name,, user-No.. ..... *the position of• the library like No4 of books , 'total,..• r rnA !•+ey *uPD'.TION s *The book/books can be issued or returned to the mem-ber of the library by using his directory name and book number(s) that is/are to be issued. *NOTICE GENERATION s *A notice to the member of the library can be issued by using the book number. *MODIFICATION *It performs two functions : *Firsts it loads the data of new bookds. *Second, it corrects the element of a record that, by chance, has been fed in wrongly. All the above aspects are implemented on ITEC-2050 using DBMS-20 alongwith COBOL as a host language. | en_US |
